Frequently Asked Questions

Answers about quotes, permits, materials and how we work.

Quotes and scheduling

How do I get a quote?
Fill out the quote form with photos and rough sizes, or call 647-280-9495. We review the details, talk it through with you and book a site visit.
Is the quote free?
Yes. Quotes for decks, fences, railings and commercial fencing are free.
How far do you travel?
We work across Toronto, Peel, York, Halton and Durham Region. See the full service area list.
What should I send with my request?
Photos of the space, rough measurements, the materials or style you like, and your property survey if you have one.

Permits and rules

Who looks after permits?
We check whether your project needs a permit and tell you up front. Where drawings and a permit are needed, it's included in the scope we quote.
Do I need my neighbour's permission for a fence?
Not usually for a fence fully on your property, but a conversation first avoids problems. Shared fences on the line are different. See our fence line guide.
Where do I find my city's fence height rules?
Our GTA fence height guide lists the limits by city, with links to each city's bylaw.
Do you call for utility locates?
Yes. Underground utilities are located before we dig any post holes or footings.

Building and materials

Which brands of composite do you install?
Trex, Fiberon and TruNorth.
Can you work in winter?
Some work can go ahead in winter, like framing on existing footings or fence repairs, but frozen ground limits new footings and posts. Spring through fall is the main building season.
Do you remove the old deck or fence?
Removal and disposal can be included in your quote. It's listed as its own line so you can see the cost.
Do you offer a warranty?
Yes, a 2-year workmanship warranty on every job. See the warranty page.
