Oshawa allows boundary fences up to 2.2 m (7 ft 2 in) near rear and side lot lines, taller than many GTA cities. Front yards are the opposite at 0.9 m (3 ft).
Pool fences must be at least 1.5 m (5 ft). For properties near flood plains, fill-regulated areas or creeks, the City directs owners to the Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority.
