- Most posts solid and a few failing: repair
- Boards in good shape but posts rotting: repair if it's a few, replace if it's most
- Fence well past its life and leaning in many places: replace
- Shared fence: we can quote both sides so neighbours see the same numbers
Fence repair questions
Can you fix a leaning fence?
Usually. A leaning fence often means one or more posts have rotted or heaved. We replace or reset those posts and straighten the sections if the boards and rails are still sound.
Is it worth repairing an old wood fence?
If the posts are the problem and the boards are in good shape, repairs make sense. If most posts are rotting at the base, replacing the fence usually costs less over time.
Can you match my existing fence?
We match style, height and board size as closely as we can. New wood will look different from weathered wood until it ages or both are stained.
Who pays to repair a shared fence?
