What we built
Front yards in newer subdivisions are almost always left open. That is fine until there is a dog and a small child in the house and the only enclosed ground is out back. The ask here was to make the front lawn usable without turning it into a compound.
Height is the whole question on a job like this. Front yard fences are held to a lower limit than back yard fences in most GTA municipalities, and on a corner lot there is the extra matter of not blocking what drivers need to see. Thirty six inches answers both. It holds a dog and gives a child a clear edge, and it stays low enough that the house and the street still read as open.
The fence is pressure-treated on 4x4 posts, with spaced pickets between a top and bottom rail and caps on the posts. At this height the look matters as much as the function, because it sits in full view of the street rather than behind the house.
It wraps the corner and returns along both frontages, with the run left open at the walkway so the front door is still approached the normal way.

A 280 square foot deck in Stouffville brought back instead of torn out. Boards had split right through in places, a corner post had rotted out at its base and the paint had failed across the whole structure. We replaced what had gone, rebuilt the railing where it was needed, and repainted the deck so the new work sits flush with the old.
